It is a foldable wheelchair scale designed to serve bariatric patients and those with varying mobility levels by meeting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for public healthcare facilities and assisted living homes.

The ADA regulates medical equipment to ensure resources are devoted to accessibility for those who need extra assistance, such as bariatric patients or individuals using wheelchairs. This includes regulations for medical scales. In 2024, the U.S. Access Board introduced updates that specifically address medical diagnostic equipment (MDE), setting clear guidelines for accessibility.

As of August 9, 2026, every public healthcare facility must have at least one ADA-compliant scale, or 10% of all diagnostic equipment must meet ADA requirements. For a scale to be ADA-compliant, it must have a certain platform width, depth, slope and edge protection on the ramps and platform
